We have just completed a letting of a property in Tonbridge within four weeks from our purchase completion. Waghorn & Company (Waghorn) handled the complete process with ease and a professionalism that delivered this project through to a very successful conclusion for us and our new tenant.

This was our first entrance into the property market as a landlord and if we were to do another transaction then without hesitation we will invite Waghorn to similarly participate to manage the full project for us. Why are we so confident?

We completed on our property purchase on 3rd February 2011 and had earlier scanned a book on becoming a landlord.

  • Waghorn attended a site meeting the next day. (They were recommended to us.) We had one other meeting with another service supplier.
  • Whilst we were considering the two proposals Waghorn informed us that they had a prospective tenant wanting our street.
  • On the 7th we agreed to proceed with Waghorn, they viewed with the prospective tenant and next day they had received a securing deposit.
  • The tenant took occupancy on the 1st March 2011 at a monthly rental 12% higher than we anticipated and two months ahead of our hopes.
  • The total management fee quoted by Waghorn was very competitive and the communication style efficient, effective and considerate.
  • Apart from the obvious what did we like about the process?


We were kept informed every step. We were confident that were in control and getting a hold on our responsibilities.

There was a small leak in the shower room and we couldn't get hold of our plumber - Waghorn brought their resource in.

The contracts and documentation were concise, clear and explained.

Waghorn were considerate and respectful towards our new tenant.

We have received our first rental income without any fuss.

We really thought that this experience might be inclusive of a little stress and strain here and there but it wasn't. A very calm process and we are very pleased that we didn't take a more hands on role ourselves which we were considering at an earlier juncture.
